Getting Started with WHM
WHM (Web Host Manager) is a powerful web-based control panel that allows you to create and manage multiple cPanel accounts from one central interface. It is ideal for resellers who need to handle multiple websites and allocate resources. With WHM, you can create hosting packages, manage cPanel accounts, and perform administrative tasks such as DNS management and account suspensions.
Log in to WHM
To begin, log in to WHM using your WHM credentials. You can access WHM via https://exampledomain.co.za/whm or by clicking the WHM Login button in the Elitehost Client Area. Refer to this article: How do I log into WHM?
Create a Hosting Package
Before creating any cPanel accounts, you’ll need to define hosting packages. Hosting packages allow you to set limits on resources like disk space, bandwidth, and email accounts for your cPanel accounts. Refer to this article: How can I create a package in WHM?
Create a cPanel Account
Once your hosting packages are set up, you can create cPanel accounts for your customers or websites. Each cPanel account will have its own login and access to the hosting features you’ve defined in the package. Refer to this article: How do I create a cPanel account in WHM?
Register/Update the Domain
After creating a cPanel account, ensure that the domain is registered and pointed to our name servers. If your domain is not yet registered, follow this guide: How do I register a domain?
Once your hosting packages and cPanel accounts are set up, you can manage your accounts easily from WHM. Key management actions include:
Modify Disk Quota: Adjust the disk space allocated to an existing cPanel account. How can I change cPanel storage/disk quota in WHM?

Edit DNS Zones: Manage domain DNS settings, including setting custom records or changing name servers.
By following these steps, you’ll be able to efficiently manage your cPanel accounts using WHM. If you need assistance, feel free to contact our support team.
cPanel Accounts: A cPanel account is a hosting account that provides access to a range of tools for managing websites, emails, databases, and other hosting features. Each cPanel account comes with its own login and is managed through the cPanel control panel. When you create a cPanel account in WHM, you assign resources like disk space and bandwidth based on the hosting package it is linked to.
Packages: In WHM, packages allow you to set resource limits for cPanel accounts in advance. A package includes preset limits for items such as disk space, bandwidth, email accounts, and databases. Instead of manually configuring these for each account, you can create packages and assign them to multiple accounts, streamlining the management process. Updating a package automatically applies the changes to all accounts using that package.
Feature Lists: Feature lists in WHM control which features and tools cPanel accounts can access. For example, you can create a feature list that allows access to file management and email but restricts access to any site builders. By assigning feature lists to cPanel accounts, you ensure that each account has the appropriate level of access based on its needs, without exposing unnecessary features.
