How can I move/migrate my website to Elitehost?

At Elitehost, we are committed to making your transition as simple and stress-free as possible. By migrating your hosting to our platform, we ensure that all your emails, website files, and databases are safely backed up and restored. Our expert team will handle the entire process, so you can focus on what matters most—running your website.

Follow the steps below to seamlessly migrate your hosting to Elitehost:

Step 1: Talk to Us

Our experts are here to guide you through the migration process and address any concerns you may have. Start by opening a support ticket with the details of your current hosting account. You can easily open a ticket by emailing migrations@elitehost.co.za.

When you reach out, please provide the necessary login credentials for your existing hosting account (such as cPanel credentials) to facilitate the migration.

Once we’ve reviewed your account details, we will recommend the most suitable hosting package for your needs.

If your current provider uses cPanel, the migration will be free. However, if a manual migration is required (for non-cPanel providers), a migration fee may apply.

Step 2: Place Your Hosting Order

To proceed with the hosting migration, you’ll need to place an order for your desired hosting package. Follow these steps:

Go to the Elitehost Hosting Page.
Select a Hosting Plan that meets your requirements.
Complete the Order Process, ensuring you provide your domain name.
During the checkout process, you can choose to transfer your domain name to Elitehost, which allows us to manage your domain and name servers.

Step 3: Migration Scheduling

Once your hosting order is confirmed, and if you've opted to transfer your domain, our team will schedule the migration after the domain transfer is complete. This allows us to update the nameservers after the migration process, ensuring your website is fully operational on Elitehost’s infrastructure.

Step 4: Name Servers Update

If you have transferred your domain to us, we will update the nameservers to point to our hosting platform after the migration is finished. This ensures your website is fully functional on Elitehost’s infrastructure.

Step 5: Test Your Website

After the migration, make sure to thoroughly test your website to confirm that everything is functioning correctly. Check your pages, forms, and any interactive elements to ensure they are working as intended.

Step 6: Cancel with Existing Provider

Once you are satisfied that your website is running smoothly on Elitehost, you can proceed to cancel your hosting with your previous provider. Make sure you have all necessary backups before doing so.

For any questions or assistance during the migration process, feel free to contact our support team. We are here to help make your transition as smooth as possible!

What is Included in a cPanel Migration?

Migrating from cPanel will transfer all your website data, including:

Addon domains, alias (parked) domains, and subdomains
Databases
Mailboxes
All cPanel passwords (which will remain the same after the migration)

Pre-Migration Tips

Avoid Cancelling Your Current Hosting Prematurely: It’s important to allow for some overlap time. This ensures you have the chance to set up and thoroughly test your site on Elitehost, in case any issues arise or you need to recover anything from your previous host.
Before starting the migration, make sure your website is functioning properly with your current provider. Resolve any errors or functional problems prior to initiating the migration process. While we will verify that your site is operational after the migration, we cannot address any pre-existing issues that existed beforehand.
