# How can I point my website/domain to Canva?

If you're hosting your domain with Elitehost but want to point your website to Canva, you'll need to update your DNS settings in cPanel. Additionally, if you want to keep your email services running on Elitehost, you'll need to modify the mail records to ensure they still point to our server.

|| Before you start, make sure your domain is added to your Canva website. For detailed instructions, see [Canva's guide on using your own domains to publish websites](https://www.canva.com/help/publishing-websites-own-domains/).

Here's how you can configure your DNS settings to point your domain to Canva while keeping your email services on Elitehost.

### Step 1: Log in to cPanel and navigate to Zone Editor

1. **Log in to cPanel.**
2. Navigate to the **"Domains"** section and click on **"Zone Editor."**
3. Find your domain in the list and click on **"Manage."**

### Step 2: Update Mail Records to Keep Email Services on Elitehost

1. **Update the Mail A Record** (to keep email pointed to Elitehost):

* Locate the **mail A Record** and ensure it points to the IP address of your Elitehost server (e.g., `164.160.91.XX`).
* If it's currently set as a **CNAME Record**, you'll need to click the drop-down on **CNAME** and change it to an **A Record**.

2. **Modify the MX Record**:

* Find the **MX Record** for your domain in the DNS list.
* Edit the **MX Record** to point to mail.exampledomain.co.za to ensure email is routed through Elitehost servers.

### Step 3: Point your Domain to Canva

1. **Update the A Record** (to point your website to Canva):

* Locate the **A Record** for the domain that is currently pointing to another IP.
* Click **Edit** next to it.
* Update the **Record** field with `103.169.142.0` and click **Save Record**.

2. **Add the Canva verification TXT Record**

Canva requires domain verification before they publish your website on the domain.

* Click **Add Record**.
* Select **TXT Record**.
* Enter your domain in the Name field eg exampledomain.co.za. and `canva-domain-verify=unique-string-from-canva` in the record field. (Replace unique-string-from-canva with the actual string provided by Canva.)
* Click **Save Record**.

### Example DNS Records:

| Record Type | Name | Value |
| ---- |
| A Record | @ | 103.169.142.0 |
| TXT Record | @ | canva-domain-verify=unique-string-from-canva |
| A Record | mail | Elitehost Server IP (e.g., 164.160.91.xx) |
| MX Record | @ | mail.exampledomain.co.za |

### Final Steps

Once you have updated the necessary DNS records, the changes will propagate within 24-48 hours. After propagation, your website will point to Canva, and your email will continue functioning via Elitehost.
