How to Validate Your Domain Contact Details
When you modify your existing domain's contact information or register a new domain, you will need to verify your details. Here’s what you need to know:
Verification Email: After registration or modification, you will receive an email from domain-control@za-dns.com with the subject line "IMMEDIATE VERIFICATION."
Response Required: It is crucial that you click the verification link in this email promptly. If you do not complete this action within 15 days, your domain will be suspended.
Consequences of Non-Response: Failure to complete the verification process within the specified timeframe will result in the suspension of your domain. This policy also applies to any updates made to domain contact details or during domain transfers.
Domain Contact Details Verification does not apply to co.za, org.za, web.za or org.za domains.
Importance of Accurate Contact Information
On January 1, 2014, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) implemented changes to the Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA). These revisions significantly increased the responsibilities of both domain registrars and registrants to reduce the number of orphaned or lost domains—those for which the registrant's contact information is unavailable or invalid. This initiative also aims to prevent disputes over domain ownership.
All domain names must have accurate contact information in accordance with ICANN's RAA.
