How do I retrieve my Auth/EPP code and unlock my domain for transfer away?
If you’re transferring your domain away from Elitehost, some domains require an EPP (authorisation) code and need to be unlocked before they can be transferred. Follow the steps below to retrieve your EPP code and unlock your domain. Please note, not all domain extensions require an EPP code or registrar lock.
If your domain requires an EPP code for transfer, you can generate it by following these steps:
Log into the Elitehost Client Area.
Navigate to Domains from the drop-down menu and select My Domains.
Click the Manage button or on the domain name you wish to transfer away
On the left side of the screen, click Get EPP Code.
If your domain supports EPP codes, this will generate the code for you to use in the transfer process.
If your domain requires a registrar lock to be removed before transferring, follow these steps:
Log into the Elitehost Client Area.
Go to Domains from the drop-down menu and select My Domains.
Click the Manage button or on the domain name you wish to unlock
On the left side of the screen, click Registrar Lock*
Click the Disable Registrar Lock button
This will unlock your domain, allowing it to be transferred.
Domains such as co.za, web.za, net.za, and org.za do not require EPP codes or support locking. You can transfer these domains without following the steps above.
