How do I set a strong password?

Strong passwords are essential for protecting your accounts from unauthorised access. Follow the guidelines below to improve your password security.

We strongly recommend using a reputable password manager to generate and securely store complex passwords.

Password Requirements

  • Use a unique password for every account. Never reuse passwords across different logins.
  • Your password should be at least 16 characters. Longer passwords are more secure.
  • It should include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • Avoid predictable information. Do not use names, birthdays, common words, phrases, or sequences (e.g., password, qwerty, 123456, !@#).
  • A Passphrase may be used. They are often easier to remember, while still being highly secure. A passphrase should be more than four random words and include symbols and numbers.
  • Enable Two-Factor or Multi-Factor Authentication (2FA/MFA) wherever possible for an added layer of protection. For more information on 2FA, see this article: Enabling 2FA for the Client Area
  • Do not share your password with anyone!
