How do I Transfer a Domain to Elitehost?

Transferring a domain to Elitehost varies based on the domain extension. To streamline the process, we've divided our guides into sections to provide you with relevant information based on your domain extension.

To initiate the transfer process, please place a transfer order using the following link: Place Domain Transfer Order. If you’re also ordering hosting, start by ordering a hosting package, then select the option “Transfer your domain from another registrar” during checkout.

For .co.za / .org.za / .net.za / .web.za Domains

Cost: Free
Acceptance Process: The transfer request will be sent to the registrant email address associated with the domain. The transfer will be completed once the email is accepted.
Timeframe: The transfer can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 5 days to complete, with the transfer being instant once accepted.

For .com / .net / .org / .biz / .info / .us Domains

Cost: Relevant domain renewal cost
Timeframe: The typical timeframe for completing the transfer of these domains is 5 to 7 days.
We charge a fee because we need to renew the domain for an additional year. This year is added to your expiry date, so you will not lose any time you have already paid for.

Transferring a non-.za domain involves a few more steps and adheres to additional ICANN rules. Here’s what you need to do:

Unlock Your Domain: Access your current registrar’s control panel to unlock your domain. This allows it to be transferred.
Obtain the EPP Code: Also known as the authorization code, this code is necessary for initiating the transfer. You can request it through your current registrar.

For .uk / .co.uk Domains

Cost: Free
Timeframe: The typical timeframe for completing the transfer of these domains is 5 to 7 days.

When transferring a .uk or .co.uk domain, you need to use an IPS tag. Our IPS tag is REGISTRAR-EU. Ensure you provide this tag when requesting the transfer. Once the transfer order has been placed and initiated, the domain's IPS tag needs to be updated at your existing domain registrar.
