# What is the maximum email message size?

Our servers allow email messages of up to **50 MB** to be sent or received. However, many other providers have lower limits, which may restrict your effective email size.

###### Why Avoid Large Email Attachments?

While our servers support messages up to 50 MB, sending emails with attachments over **10 MB** is not recommended. Email is not designed for sharing large files and may lead to:

* Delivery issues with external providers.
* Storage inefficiencies due to duplicate storage on both sender and recipient servers.
* Potential mailbox performance problems.

###### Recommended Alternatives for Sharing Large Files

For files larger than **10 MB**, we suggest using file-sharing platforms. These options are more reliable and efficient for managing and sharing large files:

1. **Dropbox**: Upload your files and share a secure download link.
2. **Google Drive** or **Microsoft OneDrive**: Cloud storage services offering easy sharing capabilities.
3. **ownCloud**: A self-hosted cloud storage solution you can install on your hosting account via Softaculous.
