A Guide to Setting Up Your Billing Profile

Our team is here to help with support queries quickly and securely. A few simple setup steps on your side can prevent delays and make any support request much smoother.

Below are the most useful tips to avoiding common issues we see:

1. Use a strong, unique password

Set a strong, unique password for both your client area and email accounts.

Weak or reused passwords are one of the leading causes of account compromise and can cause significant disruption.

2. Use an independent contact email

Use an email address that isn’t linked to your domain/hosting as your main contact or as a user with the necessary permissions.

If your services go down, a domain-linked email may leave you locked out when you need access most. Adding a secondary authorised contact will also help if you’re unavailable.

3. Enable app-based Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

All accounts have email-based 2FA enabled by default. For stronger security, switch to the token-based 2FA. This adds an extra layer of protection, even if your login details are compromised.

We would also strongly recommend enabling 2FA for cPanel.

4. Use the correct payment reference

Incorrect references can delay processing and may lead to avoidable issues like service suspension or added fees.

Save your account number on your invoice as the beneficiary’s payment reference in your banking app to ensure all payments you make are allocated to your account promptly.

5. Ensure Account Ownership information is accurate

Make sure the details on the account reflect the correct owner and responsible party.

For domains, if you are a reseller registering domains on behalf of someone else, their details must be listed as the domain contact and if the domain was registered on behalf of a company, the company name field should be filled in.

6. Keep your details up to date

We may need to verify your details when assisting with certain requests.

Keeping your billing profile information (name, company details, ID, address, contact number) accurate and up to date ensures this process is quick and straightforward.
