How do I configure Two-Factor Authentication for cPanel?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your cPanel account by requiring not only your password but also a second form of verification. This helps protect your account from unauthorised access. Follow the steps below to enable 2FA in cPanel.
Go to to cPanel by visiting https://exampledomain.co.za/cpanel (Refer to our article: How do I log in to cPanel?)
Log in using your cPanel username and password.
In the Security section of the cPanel dashboard, click Two-Factor Authentication.
Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.
Scan the QR code using an authentication app like Google Authenticator or Authy.
Enter the 6-digit verification code shown in your app into the field provided in cPanel.
Click Enable to activate 2FA.
Save the backup codes displayed. These can be used if you lose access to your authentication app.
You have successfully enabled Two-Factor Authentication for your cPanel account! From now on, you will need to provide the verification code from your authentication app each time you log in, adding an extra layer of security to your account.
Once you have enabled 2FA, you will need to provide the verification code each time you log in to cPanel. Here’s how to do it:

Enter your cPanel username and password.
When prompted, open your authentication app and enter the current 6-digit code.
