How do I configure Two-Factor Authentication for Webmail?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Webmail account by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password. This helps prevent unauthorised access to your email.

Steps to Enable Two-Factor Authentication in Webmail

Access Webmail by visiting https://exampledomain.co.za/webmail
Log in using your email address and password.
On the Webmail management screen (before opening RoundCube), look for the Edit Your Settings section.
Click Two-Factor Authentication.
Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.
Scan the QR code using an authentication app like Google Authenticator or Authy.
Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app into the field provided.
Click Enable to activate 2FA.
Save the backup codes shown—these can help you access Webmail if you lose access to your authentication app.

Once set up, you'll be prompted for a code from your authentication app each time you log into Webmail.

You have successfully enabled Two-Factor Authentication for your Webmail account. You will now be asked to enter a verification code each time you log into Webmail.

Logging In with Two-Factor Authentication

Once 2FA is enabled, you will be prompted to enter a verification code each time you log in:

Access Webmail by visiting https://exampledomain.co.za/webmail
Log in using your email address and password.
When prompted, open your authentication app and enter the current 6-digit code.
You’ll now be logged into Webmail.

How to Remove Two-Factor Authentication

If you no longer wish to use 2FA or cannot access your Webmail due to 2FA issues, you can remove it by accessing Webmail through cPanel or the Client Area:

Go to https://exampledomain.co.za/cpanel or log in to cPanel via the Elitehost Client Area.
Open Email Accounts and click Check Mail next to your email address.
On the Webmail management screen, click Two-Factor Authentication under Edit Your Settings.
Click Remove Two-Factor Authentication and confirm.

If you need assistance with any of these steps, feel free to reach out to our support team or email helpdesk@elitehost.co.za.
