How do I stop, start or restart my VPS?

You can easily control the power state of your VPS from the Elitehost Client Area. Whether you need to start, shut down, or reboot your server, the controls are just a few clicks away.


Steps to manage your VPS power:


  1. Log in to the Elitehost Client Area.
  2. Go to Services > My Services.
  3. Find your VPS and click Manage.
  4. On the left-hand menu under Management, click Power.
  5. Choose one of the following actions:
  • Start – Power on the VPS if it’s currently off.
  • Shutdown – Gracefully shut down the VPS.
  • Reboot – Gracefully restart the VPS
  • Stop (Hard) – Forcibly stop the VPS.
  • Reboot (Hard) – Force a restart if the VPS is unresponsive.


The Stop/Reboot (Hard) options should only be used if the VPS does not respond to normal shutdown or restart attempts, as it forcibly terminates the virtualisation process and may result in data loss.
