How do I transfer domains/services to another client?

Elitehost makes it easy to transfer services (such as domains and hosting) from one client account to another. This feature is useful in situations where the ownership or management of services needs to be updated.

This guide explains what an internal transfer is, how to initiate one, and the steps for both senders and recipients, with tips to ensure a smooth process.

What is an internal transfer?

An internal transfer allows you to move services from your Elitehost account to another client’s account, provided you know the email address associated with their Elitehost profile. Once a transfer is initiated:

  • The sender will receive a confirmation email.
  • The recipient will receive an email notification and will need to take action by visiting the Internal Transfers page in their Client Area.
  • Both parties can track and manage the request from their Client Area.

How do I initiate a transfer?

  1. Ensure any unpaid invoices that are linked to the service and domain have been settled.
  2. Navigate to the Internal Transfer page in our Client Area.
  3. Ensure the recipient has registered a billing profile with us, or has an existing profile. Add the recipient's registered email address into the field.
  4. Select the services you want to transfer (e.g. hosting, domain).
  5. Submit the request.

How does the recipient accept or reject the transfer?

  1. Navigate to the Internal Transfer page in our Client Area.
  2. Log in to your existing profile or Register a new billing profile.
  3. Click Manage next to the pending request.
  4. Choose to Accept or Reject the transfer.
  5. Ensure "Update the password for the hosting account" is ticked.
  6. Once the transfer is complete, update the cPanel contact information
  7. Verify that the domain's contact information has been successfully updated after 5 days. If not, update the information
