Can I downgrade my VPS?

Unfortunately, VPS downgrades are not supported due to technical limitations associated with reducing disk storage.

Why are VPS downgrades not supported?

Reducing the size of an existing virtual disk presents several technical challenges:

  • Risk of data loss: Shrinking a virtual disk could remove sections containing important data or file system structures, resulting in data loss or corruption.
  • Data distribution: Files and file system structures may be distributed across the disk, even when only a small portion of the available storage is being used.

For these reasons, downgrading an existing VPS to a smaller plan is not supported.

What if I require a smaller VPS?

If you require a smaller VPS plan, you will need to provision a new VPS with the desired specifications and migrate your data to the new server.

Once the migration is complete and you have verified that everything is working correctly, you can cancel your existing VPS.
