I am unable to receive emails, why?

If you're unable to receive emails, there could be several reasons for this issue. Below are the most common causes and how to resolve them:

Mailbox Quota Reached

If your mailbox has reached its quota, you won't be able to receive any new emails. To check and increase your quota:
Log in to cPanel and navigate to Email Accounts under the Email section.
Check the current quota for your email account and adjust it if necessary.

Domain Not Resolving or Issues with MX Records

If your domain is not resolving properly, or if your MX (Mail Exchange) records are incorrect, email delivery may fail.
If you’ve recently changed your DNS, it can take up to 24-48 hours for DNS propagation.

Email Routing Set Incorrectly in cPanel

Sometimes, the email routing settings may be incorrect, especially after domain or DNS changes.
Log in to cPanel and go to Email Routing under the Email section.
Ensure that the routing is set correctly, depending on where your mail server is hosted. Select Local Mail Exchanger if your email is hosted on the same server as your website.

If you’ve checked all the above and are still unable to receive emails, feel free to reach out to our support team or email helpdesk@elitehost.co.za for further investigation.
