I am unable to send emails, why?

If you're experiencing issues with sending emails, it may be due to incorrect email settings or other common factors. Here's what you can check to resolve the issue:

Incorrect Email Settings

Ensure that your email client is configured correctly. Refer to this article: What are the email configuration settings? for the correct settings.
Double-check the Outgoing (SMTP) Server details and ensure they match the ones provided by Elitehost.

Authentication Not Enabled

Your email client may not be configured to authenticate itself when sending messages through the SMTP server.
Ensure SMTP authentication is enabled in your email client. This ensures that your outgoing email is sent with a username and password. Without this, the server will block the outgoing email for security reasons.

ISP Blocking Port 25

Some ISPs block the default SMTP port (25), which can prevent you from sending emails.
If your ISP is filtering port 25, you can use port 587 or 26 as alternatives. Make sure you update this in your email client configuration under SMTP settings.

If you've verified your email settings and still cannot send emails, feel free to contact our support team or email us at helpdesk@elitehost.co.za for further assistance.
