How do I set up my email account on my iPhone/iPad?
Setting up an email account on your iPhone or iPad is a simple process that allows you to access your emails on the go. Follow these steps to configure your email using IMAP on your iPhone or iPad.
Open Settings
Locate and tap the Settings icon on your iPhone.
Go to Mail
Scroll down and tap on Mail.
Open Accounts
In the Mail menu, tap Accounts to view your existing email accounts.
Add a New Account
Tap Add Account at the bottom of the screen.
Select 'Other'
Choose Other from the list of available account types.
Add Mail Account
Tap on Add Mail Account.
Enter Your Information
Fill in the following fields:
Name: Your full name as you want it displayed.
Email: Your full email address (e.g., name@exampledomain.co.za).
Password: The password you created when setting up the email account.
Description: A description for the account (e.g., "Work Email" or "Personal Email").
Tap Next
After entering your details, tap Next.
Select IMAP
Ensure IMAP is highlighted at the top of the screen.
Enter Mail Server Settings
Fill in the following details for both incoming and outgoing servers:
Username: Your full email address (e.g., name@exampledomain.co.za).
Incoming Mail Server: mail.exampledomain.co.za
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.exampledomain.co.za
Password: The password you used when creating the email account.
Tap 'Next' and 'Save'
It may take a moment to verify the details. If you receive a message that the account couldn't be verified, tap Use it Anyway to proceed.
Your email account is now set up and ready to use. You can access it via the Mail app on your iPhone.
Make sure the email address is already created in your hosting account via cPanel before attempting to set it up on your iPhone.
If you experience any issues with sending or receiving emails, verify that the server details (mail server and credentials) are correct.
